about branimira

Branimira Ivanova was born in Bulgaria, where she lived with her family until her early teen years, when they relocated to Chicago, Illinois. Branimira has always been deeply involved in nighttime culture in Chicago, and is known throughout the Chicago community for the quality of her craftsmanship and showmanship. She regularly unveils new collections at Chicago's legendary Nocturna events.

Brani is currently pursuing her Master of Fine Arts degree in costume design at the University of Connecticut. She holds a BFA in fashion design. Brani has costumed stage shows for companies as diverse as Hubbard Street Dance, Bailiwick Repertory, Breakbone Dance Company, and the University of Connecticut. She has been awarded several times for her work, including receving the respected Driehaus Scholarship in Chicago.
